History
Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) is one of the top engineering universities in Bangladesh. BUET is one of the oldest universities in Bangladesh. In 1876, British India (BUET) was established. Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) initially started as a school but later gradually became a college and finally a university. In 1876, the Dhaka Survey School, later renamed the Ahsanullah Engineering School in 1908, started with 3 three-year diploma courses in 3 subjects: Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. After the Second World War, the courses changed from three years to four years and there was an enrollment of 480 students with 120 students in each department, including Chemical and Agricultural Engineering. In 1947, it was converted from a school to a college and was placed under Dhaka University as the Faculty of Engineering. Then the first semester system was introduced in 1956 and seats were increased to 240 students instead of 120 in each department. The diploma course was discontinued in 1958. In 1962 it was started as the University of Engineering, then it was renamed as East Pakistan University of Engineering and Technology, and in 1964 the number of seats in each department was increased from 240 to 360 students. Later in 1970, the number of seats was again increased from 360 to 420 with a new department called Physical Planning later renamed Department of Town and Regional Planning. Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology or BUET was renamed after Bangladesh's independence in 1971 from East Pakistan University of Engineering and Technology to Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.. Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology was renamed Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology or BUET in 2003.

Then there is a large size auditorium where around 1036 people can sit together to enjoy various programs or events. Various tests are always conducted here including preliminary tests. There is also a gymnasium for students where students can exercise regularly.
